Just send us your best photo or photos, we will review all submissions and notify you if your photo is selected for publication. That’s it! There is no limit on how many photos you send, so what are you waiting for, send us your best shot! Contest ends June 30, 2012. We will post the best entries on ForensicsSource.com for everyone to see!

Official Rules
Contest: From December 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012, Safariland, LLC, through its Forensics Source brand, will promote the opportunity to submit Entries showing Forensics Source products in use at actual crime scenes. Contestants have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes as detailed below.
Sponsor: The Contest is sponsored by Safariland, LLC, c/o Forensics Source Brand, 13386 International Parkway, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
Agreement to Official Rules: Participation in the Contest constitutes your full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of Safariland, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Safariland reserves the right to disqualify any Entry, at any time, for any violation of the Official Rules.
Entry Period: The Contest begins at 9 a.m. EST on December 1, 2011 and ends at 11 p.m. EST on June 30, 2012 (the “Entry Period”). Entries submitted before or after the Entry Period will be not be eligible.
Eligibility: No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited by law. Crime scene technicians, law enforcement professionals, consultants/trainers or other professionals with access to crime scene photography may submit Entries for consideration. There is no limit to the number of photographs that can be submitted by any agency, organization or individual. Any individuals (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors, creative agency and interns) who have, within the past six months, performed services for Safariland, LLC or any organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the Contest and/or their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are not eligible to enter. "Immediate family members" shall mean parents, stepparents, children, stepchildren, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses. "Household members" shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months in one calendar year.
How to enter: (a) Review contest rules included on this web site (www.forensicssource.com). (b) Submit all photos as hi-resolution 300dpi or larger JPG images to Forensics Source via e-mail to forensicsphotos@forensicssource.com or in digital format (flash drive or CD/DVD) to Safariland at the address above. (c) All submissions must be accompanied by a signed 2012 Crime Scene Photo Contest Photo Release and Indemnity (available at ForensicsSource.com) and a brief explanation of the photo details. (d) Failure to include all requested information may disqualify submissions from consideration. (e) All contest Entries become the property of Safariland and will not be returned to the owner. Photos may be used by Safariland for any purpose and in any media in perpetuity.
How to win: After the Entry Period, a panel of technical and creative professionals selected by Safariland will select three (3) winners according to the Judging Criteria set forth below. The decisions of the Judges are final. The odds of being selected as a Finalist depend entirely on the quality of each Entry pursuant to the Judging Criteria, relative to the performance of all entrants and the number of eligible Entries received, and does not involve chance.
Judging Criteria: All Entries will be judged according to the following equally-weighted Judging Criteria:

Fit and Relevance: How well does the photo meet the Contest requirement to feature Forensics Source products in use at crime scenes of all types?

Originality: Is the subject matter pictured in a unique way or is a common item shown from an interesting point-of-view? What is unique about this product’s use at the crime scene?

Overall Impression: Does the photo grab the viewer’s attention and hold it? What is the “wow” factor? Are there any special elements or extras in the photo that make it particularly interesting, dramatic or engaging?
The prize winners will be selected from all qualified Entries on or about June 30, 2012. Prizes will not be awarded until Safariland verifies that it has received all required documents. In the event that the original prize winners do not meet Official Rules or eligibility requirements, or the individual or organization forfeits the prize, Safariland will award the prize to another Contestant. In the event of a prize forfeiture, the winner will send a letter on company letterhead documenting their intent to forfeit the prize to Safariland within ten (10) days of receiving the Form. This process will continue until all three prizes are awarded. By entering, each Contestant agrees to be bound by these rules. Safariland is not responsible for lost, delayed or misdirected mail, undeliverable e-mail messages, fax or shipment errors, busy phone signals or incomplete Entries.
Prizes: Prize winners are eligible to receive one of the following three prizes:

2nd Place: $250 gift certificate for Forensics Source products
3rd Place: $100 gift certificate for Forensics Source products
There are no other prizes. Prizes are non-transferable. There may be no cash or other substitutions of prizes by winner. Participating individuals and organizations are solely responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes or other costs associated with the receipt of any prize.
All Contest participants must sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release and Indemnification Form ("the Form") that : a) releases, indemnifies and holds harmless Safariland, its parent, affiliated, subsidiary and successor companies, and its respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives from and against any and all harm, expense, liability or injury that may be sustained relating to or arising from participation in the Contest or acceptance or use of the prize; and b) authorizes Safariland to use the winners' names, photographs, and organizational affiliation for any purpose, in any media, unless prohibited by law.
Requirements for Entries: Entries may not contain (a) any recognizable image of any person other than yourself, (b) any recognizable trademarks (other than Safariland trademarks), or (c) any content copyrighted by a third party. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Entries may depict the back of a person’s head or other aspects of a person as long as the person is not recognizable.
Representations: By submitting an Entry, you represent that (a) the Entry is original, (b) you are the sole creator of the Entry, (c) the Entry does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party, (d) the Entry has not previously been entered in any other Contest or competition, (e) the Entry has not been previously published in any medium, (f) the Entry does not violate any local, state, provincial, or federal laws and (g) that your participation in the Contest does not violate your employer’s policies.
Sponsor’s Rights to Entries: You will retain ownership of your Entry, including all intellectual property rights which may exist in your Entry. Safariland shall not acquire any right, title, or ownership interest to your Entry. However, by submitting an Entry, you grant Safariland the unconditional and perpetual right, license and consent to reproduce, encode, store, copy, transmit, publish, post, broadcast, display, and exhibit the Entry in any media throughout the world in relation to the Contest, without limitation, and without additional review by, compensation to, or approval from, you or any other party. Safariland shall have the right, but not the obligation, to use your name, likeness, biography, and other information about you in connection with your Entry. By submitting an Entry, you further agree not to instigate, support, maintain, or authorize any action, claim, or lawsuit against Safariland, or any other person, on the grounds that Safariland’s use of your Entry as set forth in these Official Rules infringes any of your rights, including, without limitation, copyrights, patent rights, trademark rights, or other intellectual property or personal rights. You further acknowledge that Safariland is in no way obligated to protect any intellectual property rights which may exist in the Entry or to publish or use your Entry in any way. Nothing herein shall constitute an employment, joint venture, or partnership relationship between you and Safariland. In no way are you to be construed as the agent or to be acting as the agent of Safariland. Entries may be posted on Forensics Source and Safariland corporate web sites.
General Conditions: In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Contest is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to, technical errors, tampering with the voting process, or fraud, or for any reason whatsoever, Safariland may, in its sole discretion, either (a) cancel the Contest at any time, with no prizes or remuneration awarded to any Contest entrant, (b) suspend the Contest to address any impairment and then resume the Contest in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules, or (c) award the prizes according to the Judging Criteria from among the eligible Entries received up to the time of an impairment. Safariland reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Safariland reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure by Safariland to enforce any provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. The Contest is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. In the event of a dispute as to the owner of an Entry, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used to enter will be deemed to be the entrant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Safariland reserves the right to cancel this contest at any time, and award no prizes.
Unforeseen Events: Safariland reserves the right to change this Contest at its sole discretion at any time that it become aware of any circumstances or occurrence which would materially affect the Contest security or fairness. Safariland reserves the right to announce any Contest rules changes in print or electronic media. Safariland is not responsible for the inability of the winner to accept the prize for any reason.
Release and Limitations of Liability: Except where prohibited, in cases of death or personal injury caused by the negligence of Safariland or in cases of breach by Safariland of any of its obligations under these Official Rules, by participating in the Contest, you agree not to make any claim against Safariland, its respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (the “Released Parties”) relating to your participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) claims that your Entry violates any third party’s copyrights, trademark rights, publicity rights, or other rights; (b) any technical errors that may prevent you from submitting an Entry; (c) unauthorized human intervention in the Contest; (d) printing errors; (e) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (f) errors in the administration of the Contest or the processing of Entries; or (g) injury, death, or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt of any prize. You further agree to compensate any of the Released Parties if they incur or suffer any loss, damage, or other liability as a result of your negligence or breach of these Official Rules. And you agree that in any cause of action, the Released Parties’ liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Contest, and in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorney’s fees. You waive the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
Disputes: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in Duval County, state of Florida, United States of America. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrant’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of Safariland in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Florida, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of Florida or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Florida.
Severability: If any term of these Official Rules shall be found to be void or contrary to law, such term shall be deemed to be severable from the other terms and provisions herein, and the remainder of these Official Rules shall remain in effect.
Results: All Entries must be received on or before June 30, 2012 to be considered. The prize winners will be posted on the Safariland Forensics Source website (www.forensicssource.com).
