The Scanning Electron Microscope SEM analysis kit consists of metal discs 14⁄5" stub, 11⁄2" face with an adhesive on them. The discs are dabbed on the hands and the adhesive picks up the gunshot residue particles. The metal discs are then sent to the laboratory. Visible stains do not appear on the hands. The resulting data is obtained only by laboratory examination. Everything needed for GSR collection is included in this kit. Each kit is individually sealed and contains instructions, plastic gloves and an envelope and evidence label for resealing.
