The most comprehensive work ever on the subject of fingerprint development techniques, the second edition of the Manual of Fingerprint Development Techniques contains additional chemical processes and safety information, as well as color-coded charts listing particular surfaces and suggested latent print development techniques to be applied to that surface. Process-specific chapters begin with color photographs of a sample of what resulting latent prints may look like. Each page is plastic-coated to resist tearing and chemical staining. A number of new chemical processes have been added, such as alternative Amido Black formulations, new non-CFC solvent systems for Ninhydrin, and removal of some fluorescent dye formulations in Superglueâ„¢. A fingerprint laboratory floor plan, information on choosing respiratory protective equipment and health and safety guidelines have also been added.
