The Polilight ® PL400 is a state-of-the-art forensic light source, designed for operation at the scene of crime or within the laboratory. Its design is based upon the highly successful Polilight ® models PL6, PL10 and the top of the range PL500. The cost effective PL400 fills the gap between the PL500 and the hand held Poliray ® and Polilight ® Flare.

Versatile and flexible
The Polilight ® PL400 features a special internal filter wheel which holds up to 20 independent filters, allowing for a versatile array of output bands. The Standard Model includes the most commonly requested filters used on site at the crime scene, while the Lab Model includes additional filters for added versatility at the crime scene or in the lab.

Powerful
The powerful 400-Watt Metal Halide lamp makes even the dimmest evidence appear bright and crisp. The bulb has a long life, at over 1,000 lamp hours.

Easy to Control
The PL400 features an internal microprocessor control and stepper motor filter wheel, which makes filter selection literally as easy as the touch of a button. In addition, the PL400 includes a special RS232 cable which allows the unit to be operated remotely via a PC or laptop computer. The unique control software allows the user to specify the application, rather than the independent wavelengths. The software will automatically switch to the optimal light wavelength and suggest, when required, the color of the filter or goggles that are needed to visualize and photograph any resulting evidence.

The Standard model includes the following nine output bands: 350nm UV, 415nm, 450nm, LP530nm, 490nm, 505nm, 530nm, White and Half White
The Lab model includes the following twenty output bands: 350nm UV, 415nm, 430nm, 450nm, LP530nm, 470nm, 480nm, 490nm, 505nm, 515nm, 530nm, 550nm, 560nm, LP560nm, 570nm, 590nm, 620nm, 650nm, White and Half White
