The Modular, Affordable Comparison Microscope
Created with the small laboratory and educator in mind, the COMAC was designed to fit into most agencies’ budgets without sacrificing the quality and attention to detail you expect from a Swiss-made microscope. Manufactured for remarkable rigidity and durability, this microscope was built to last. Engineered as a modular unit, specialized modules are available to enhance the already-remarkable features of this scope, making it a perfect tool for nearly any kind of forensic examination.
One of the most versatile and modular microscopes on the market, the COMAC is built to rigid Swiss standards. Featuring unsurpassed optical quality, an extremely wide field of view and one of the largest magnification ranges of any microscope on the market, the COMAC is a dream for serious forensic examiners. Nearly everything on the microscope is adjustable, from independent X and Y controls on each stage to height adjustments up and down the rigid steel neck. When used in conjunction with Projectina®’s unique cold light sources, visualizing and comparing the smallest detail become simple, comfortable and enjoyable.
Each COMAC is individually created to meet your specific needs. Please contact our Customer Service Department or your local Forensics Source representative for more information on the COMAC and a customized quotation.
Swiss-Made, High-Quality Optics
Unsurpassed optical clarity and an extremely wide field of view – 2.2mm to 85mm (.1" to 3.4") – make the COMAC a pleasure to use. The range of magnification is one of the largest on the market from 2.5x to 95x. Objects can be viewed in the objectives at full right, full left, overlay or split comparison.
Designed with Large Objects in Mind
An extremely high working distance of 130mm (5.1") from stage to objective allows an examiner to view taller evidence than most other microscopes. Each stage is fully adjustable along the X and Y axis up to 70mm (2.8"), making examinations of large objects possible without manipulating evidence.
Document Examination
An extra-wide field of view – 280mm x 280mm (11" x 11") – allows the examiner to view a full, standard-size passport page. The option of transmitted or reflected light allows for the viewing of watermarks and indented writing. Hidden security features can be viewed using the optional ultraviolet (UV) light. The bright, cold lighting allows for comfortable viewing of three-dimensional features.
Firearms Examination Tools
Features a wide selection of bullet and cartridge case holders for nearly all forms of ammunition. Fully rotational stage components allow for a more complete examination of bullets and casings.
Toolmark Examination
The ball-mounted, rotational stage allows for a freer range of movement, so examinations can be performed without physically touching evidence. Specialized tool holders are available to hold a variety of evidence.
